Mindful Eating

I would like to think I have a relatively healthy relationship with food.  I eat vegan, mostly local, at least 60% raw, whole and unprocessed foods. I eat when I’m hungry, and don’t when I’m not. But I have an issue with not paying attention while consuming the food I have thought so deeply about before purchasing. And I often eat too fast without taking time to fully enjoy what I eat.

Juice Fasting Diary

Day 5. Friday- final day and breaking the fast 😀

I had the same routine this morning as rest of the week, making breakfast to my darlings and then preparing and making juices for me. I was thinking to myself that I am so sick and tired of cleaning the juicer :P. I felt that this would be the main reason why I could break my fast and start eating again :P. It just so annoying to wash, peel, cut and juice everything and then after cleaning up the juicer is the worst. I love cooking, but juicing is another thing. Such a big amount of effort ant the result is just juice :P. At least this is how I felt today. And before this juice fast I had no problem making fresh juices, but then it was more like a choice rather than a obligation :D.

Juice Fasting for Better Health!

I decided to go on a juice fast, kind of a spring cleaning for my body :D. Juice fast allows your body to get rid of toxins, heal cells, lose some extra weight, improve skin and digestive problems. With juice fasting you can even cure illnesses, relieve allergies. I could spend all day talking about the value of fasting, but only you can find out for yourself what it can do for you. Experience is your best teacher, and improved health is always the best proof. A fast will cost very little money, and may well be one of the best things you’ve ever done for yourself. Fasting is not for growing children, and clearly not for anyone pregnant or nursing. People who are taking certain medications and people who have other compelling medical reasons should not fast or consult with professionals. This still leaves the majority of us as more-or-less willing candidates. And now is the right time to do it ;).  When you have to work while fasting, make your juice on the morning at home and carry it in a thermos or mason jar. Fill the vacuum bottle all the way to the top so when you close it, a little juice overflows. This also helps to reduce oxidation, insuring that there is little or no air inside to spoil the goodness!

Why Dairy is Bad for Your Health

I have quit eating dairy products and there is a good reason for it.  The cows milk is designed for cow baby’s not for humans and drinking this makes us sick and harm the environment and animals also. I can truly say that I feel so much better without dairy in my menu. And I really don’t miss anything, okay almost anything, I kinda think about cheese sometimes, but I am working on discovering alternatives for it. I don’t take this as something I have to deprive myself, rather I think I have the opportunity to discover so much more better foods for me. There are so many good things to eat, so I can’t see any reason why I should eat something that is bad for my body and health. I have done my research and the info I have found is enough for me to make this change and feel confident about it. I have found many articles, opinions, theories and researches to validate my decision, but the most important thing is that my body is telling me also that I am better without dairy and that’s most important to me. I think everybody have to do their own research. Remember, dairy is not crucial for good health. I encourage you to go dairy-free and see what it does for you. Start to think with your own head and use your gut feeling and you will understand what is true and what is not.  Below you can find informative summary about dairy, in my opinion it is really clearly and thoroughly explained. Dairy is nature’s perfect food- but only if you’re a calf.
