2 recipes for homemade natural air freshening spray:
- 1 1/2 cups of water
- 1/2 cup of vinegar
- 15 drops of pure essential oils
Mix these three ingredient up and in a spray bottle and spray away! You now have homemade air freshening spray without all of the chemicals of the store-bought varieties and you saved money. Making your own air freshening spray is a win win in my opinion.
- 2 cups water
- 1 tbsp of baking soda
- 15 drops of pure essential oil
Pour the baking soda into a medium-sized bowl. Drop the essential oil(s) over the baking soda and mix well. This will ensure that the oil is ‘carried’ in the powder and does not separate from the water.
Add the water and stir well until the baking soda has dissolved. Use a funnel and transfer into a spray bottle.
Spray away knowing that you are filling your home with natural safe scents!
- Use a hammer and a nail to poke holes in the lid of a small canning jar.
- Fill the jar about 1/4 full with baking soda and 6-8 drops of Lavender essential oil.
- Put lid on and place in any spot that could use some freshening. Every once in a while, give the jar a gentle shake to boost its air freshening power.
This powder is also useful for removing odours from carpets and upholstery. And it’s already in a handy shaker! Just sprinkle on your sofa or a spot on your carpet that needs to be deodorized, let it sit for a little while, and then vacuum it up.
You could, of course, substitute with your favorite essential oil or mix different scents.
